Adam Robertson is the lead coach and brains behind Surf Better Now. A former professional surfer hailing from Portland in Victoria’s deep south-west, Robbo is best known for his power surfing at Bells culminating in a runner-up finish at the 2009 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach against Joel Parkinson.
Now the CEO at Surfing Victoria, he has coached some of the best in the world including world champions Kelly Slater and Carissa Moore as well as a slew of CT surfers and up and coming juniors such as Isabella Nichols, Leo Fioravanti, Nikki van Dijk, Morgan Cibilic, India Robinson, Reef Heazlewood, Xavier Huxtable, Pat Gudauskis, Ellie Harrison and more. Robbo has also coached the Australian Junior Surfing Team to a Silver and Bronze medal at the 2012 and 2013 WorldJunior Surfing Championshipsas well as being awarded the 2021 Australian Coach of the Year.
2014 Rip Curl Pro Trials Champion
Growing up on the hill at Bells Beach, Cahill’s surfing has been honed on the long right hand waves in the area. As a junior Cahill was not astand out, but developed into one of Victoria’s top Pro Junior surfers, finishing the WSL series as the highest rated Victorian in 2008. One of Cahill’s career highlights was winning the Rip Curl Pro Trials and surfing in the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach mainevent in 2014.
Post surfing career, Cahill worked under the tutelage of Adam Robertson to become Surfing Victoria’s High Performance Coaching Director. Since starting in the role Cahill has worked with athletes such as Carissa Moore, Ethan Ewing, Jarvis Earle, Connor O’Leary, Morgan Cibilic, Ellie Harrison, Mia Huppatz, Kehu Butler and more.
11x Victorian Indigenous Surfing Champion
An 11x Victorian Indigenous Surfing Champion, Jordie Campbell works alongside Cahill Bell-Warren in the Surf Better Now coaching team. Growing up atSandy Point in South Gippsland, Campbell honed his skills in the open ocean beaches surrounding the area.
Campbell works with the next generation of up and coming surfers to assist in their development and building of correct technique.
2006 Australian U/16 Junior Champion
Todd Rosewall is a former Australian Champion, winning the U16 division at the 2006 event in Lennox Head. He went on tofinish 5th at the ISA World Surfing Titles in Ecuador and then 5th at the International King of the Groms final in France the following year.
Todd competed throughout the WSL Pro Junior and Qualifying Series tours over the course of 10 years and has since become one of the main coaches as part of the Surf Better Now network.
